Greetings! Singe the Mad Druid here.
We have taken the reluctant decision to cease trading at Wolverhampton Market on a Friday. The reasons are that takings have been drastically down and on successive weeks we have not covered the rent. This has two consequences. The first being that we are unable to re-invest and increase our stock and secondly that we are loosing money.
Wylde Ambiance is a business and not a charity, we started it to provide a service and make some money. Friday’s were not cutting it. The reason that this has happened is basically that there is a general downturn in people using the high street. Another reason is the inexplicable actions of Wolverhampton Council who have increased the amount of special Markets inf Dudley street from once to twice per week and advertised it heavily. As for advertising the Retail Market, well you’d be hard pressed to find any.
However, the planned expansion into Bilston is definitely going ahead. We chose not to go last week as the weather was inclement and we would have been chasing our stock half way to Aberdeen to retrieve it!
So sorry for the moan, madness will resume shortly.
Bright blessings
Singe
